Homeowners Appreciation Fund

If you would like to contribute to the Owners Appreciation Holiday Fund, please do so before December 17th. The appreciation fund is a donation by B.L.R. Owners split between full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff who worked in 2021 and are scheduled to return in 2022.

The Owners Appreciation Holiday Fund Bonuses will be given to the staff on Saturday, December 18th, during the Owners / Staff Christmas Party at the Lake Club. 

We know this Holiday Bonus is very impactful for our team and helps create the culture of retaining strong team members year after year. This is entirely voluntary on your part if you wish to offer a memorable "Holiday Thank You" to the team. Any amount is acceptable and appreciated.

How To Contribute:

• Add to your B.L.R. account on file: Email - If you would like to use this method, please email craig@bearlakereserve.com with an amount to be added to your account. If you prefer, we can have Alisha send you an invoice for the amount, and you can pay online. If you would like an invoice, please email craig@bearlakereserve.com with the amount you would like to contribute.
• Check: Drop off a check at the Greeter's Cottage or the Lake Club. Make checks payable to Bear Lake Club, L.L.C. Remember to indicate on the check that it is for the Owners Appreciation Holiday Fund. NOTE: Checks can be mailed to  Bear Lake Reserve, P.O. Box 248 Tuckasegee NC 28783.

You are invited to Craig and Anne Smith's Holiday Kick-Off Event at their home on Thursday, December 16th, from 5:00 pm 'til whenever! Join fellow B.L.R. Owners for fun, fellowship, hors d'oeuvres, homemade chili, desserts, and of course, cocktails! This is not a potluck, so show up for some great food and spirits.

Pickleball Christmas Tournament | Message From John

Hey all my B.L.R. pickleball fanatics,

You didn’t really think there could be Christmas at B.L.R. without a Pickleball Tournament, did you? Well, of course not! 

Sign up now for our Christmas Pickleball FUN Tournament! Tournament will be on Saturday, 12/18/21 from 1-3 pm. Deadline to enter is Tuesday, 12/15/21 at 5:00 pm. But don’t wait, do it now. This will be the perfect way to win some gift card prizes to use for your last-minute Christmas shopping.

Here are the details:

• Two flights, a Lake Flight for beginners and a Mountain flight for intermediate and advanced players. 
• Round Robin format with points given for each point won in each game that a player plays. We’ll draw numbers to determine partners and each player will play one game with the other 3 players on his/her court. We’ll redraw and repeat this several times based on the number of entrants. At the end of the last rotation, the player with the most total points (or highest % of points won to points played) will be the first place winner, second most points (or highest % of points won to points played) will be second place winner, and so on. 
• Prizes will be given to the top place winners in each flight based on the number of entrants.
• Deadline for entering is Thursday, 5pm, December 16th.
• Entries are limited to the first 20 players.
• Cost is $25 per person.

The countdown to Christmas is on, and the local area has plenty to see and do as the holidays approach! Then, start your New Year by jumping into the icy waters of Bear Lake at our annual Polar Plunge. On New Year's Day we will also have a buffet lunch for charity, and a special event with Grammy winning and nominated artist Heidi Newfield and Matt King.
